How to Start Playing Tennis

    English:
I played tennis on my campus these days, and I found that some of the tennis courts were not even occupied, though there are only eight tennis courts which are free of charge in this whole university. So I feel it is my resposibity to do some contribution to helping popularize tennis. Therefore, what I gonna write below is some directions for people who haven't get in any touch with tennis but have a tendency to start playing it. If you are already a pretty experienced tennis player with quite steady forehand and backhand, I suggest you not to waste time reading this article, though I'm sure it is no harm for you to read it.
First, I want to clear up some common mistake about tennis that it is a game only for rich people or it is an aristocrat's game. I will show you how you can start learning to play tennis within only 200 Yuan and you'll see It is a game for most average people!
The first thing you need to worry about is court. There may be hundreds of places where you can buy rackets and tennis balls in your city, while it is possible that you can hardly find a single free tennis court. So you'd better live near a college or be a college student, because you can easily find free tennis couts in upscale colleges. It is always a bit expensive for those places where charge money, say 20 Yuan per hour minimum. So if you don't earn more than 50 Yuan per hour, I suggest you not to try those toll ones which, however, do provide more comfortable court fields and better related services.
The second thing is racket. A 100 Yuan around racket is totally enough for a beginner. Believe me, it makes no difference between using a 100 Yuan racket and using a 1000 Yuan racket before you have a steady forehand and start to use some tactics or strategies. I've been still using my 120 yuan racket since 3 years ago when I started to learn tennis, and it still works good to me. Normally speeking, it is still not too late for you to start considering changing your 100 yuan racket one year or two after you start playing, if you are just an amateur. Because An more expensive racket only gives you more comfortable hand feelings! And that still depends on if it fits you or not.
The third one is balls. You play in the cheapest court, using the cheapest racket. But don't make your tennis balls too cheap. You need a teloon 628 or better. You can get a teloon 628 at 2.5 Yuan for the cheapest through some college student proxy, while you can also get it at the price of 5 Yuan at some franchised store. You can buy 100 or 50 balls at one time, bacause that can save you more money. And give you a tip here that don't bring out your 100 or 50 tennis balls in one game, because the more you bring the easier you will get them lost. It is a good idea that every time you bring with you at most 10 balls.
As the uniform, I suggest any sort of sport clothes will do. And don't try to get tennis shoes, unless you have much money, because they are really expensive. In that case, I suggest you buy yourself a good racket first.
So congratulations! Now you already have your equipments readly, you can start to learn tennis! The most important thing you need before you really get started is a good teacher who can tell you what is the correct posture and can correct your posture in real time. If you don't have a good tennis player among your friends, don't worry, you can call me on cellphone 13812345678, o(∩_∩)o..., just kidding. If you don't have a good tennis player among your friends, you can watch some tennis rudimental course videos. Once you've watched the video, you can go out and start playing. But you still need some other people give some advices about your posture and footworks, because a video can never give you personal advices according to your mistakes you've make, some of which are so subtle that you can hardly realise yourself. I believe there are always at least one or two splendid players in one palaestra. Remember seldom of they will have much patience to help a totally zero-knowledge rookie, but they do like to give some advices to someone who has one or two smart questions.
There a few further very important tips I want you to keep in mind. The first tip is always remember the correct posture and footwork is the most important thing. Never sacrifice the correct posture to hitting the incoming ball! The second tip is don't take your teachers' directions literally. Remember the correct way is always the nature way. Play tennice correctly and naturally! The third tip is have confidence in yourself. It is hard when you just get start. It takes me nearly 3 years to have relatively steady forehand and backhand. You can't be more awkward than I am. The forth tip is enjoy yourself. You play tennis because you think it's cool. Or you play tennis because you want other people think you are cool. That's all fine. But do enjoy yourself. That makes your life worthwhile!
Finally, I want to wish you have much fun playing tennis. It really makes you cool! It is the most decent, healthy, elegant game in the world. When the ball hits against the racket, it playes that silvery crisp rhyme: dope, dope, dope! One day you will play that melody yourself!
